About your practitioner: Rick Van Hassel RMT, BA Kin.
Thank you for visiting Phoenix Healing Arts!
Since early adulthood I noticed a need in our culture for a deeper integration of the information and experience that we have about our bodies. This vessel that supports our beautiful Spirit.
I began study in Kinesiology at Western University with the intent of proceeding into a career that would help and inspire others to heal. I studied for four years and along the way I was drawn to traditional medicines and massage. I truly saw that our emotional states profoundly influence our health, and vice versa.
To support people in their desire for better health, and for a fulfilling, rewarding life I studied the Japanese art of Shiatsu Therapy at Langara College/Sourcepoint Shiatsu Centre in Vancouver BC (1100 hr. course). Having been in practice now for over 15 years I am still deeply appreciative of Shiatsu. Its ability to nurture the Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit is profound.
Following Shiatsu study I proceeded to learn Cranial Sacral Therapy. As a healing system it compliments Shiatsu and massage therapy beautifully and further deepens the supportive and nurturing quality of the sessions I provide.
I am in gratitude for the ability to support others in their lives with these modalities. Recently I completed studying Massage Therapy at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy here in Victoria. This 2200 hour course has awarded me further experience and theory. I now may practice as a Registered Massage Therapist in BC as a member of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
Additionally I have been fortunate to study mindfulness, metaphysics and energy healing through several different channels. These systems of self development have had a monumental impact on my own search for deeper healing and the ability to support others in theirs. I now instruct classes on mindfulness and advanced metaphysics practices, which are powerful systems of healing and personal development.
In my personal life I enjoy sharing good times with family and friends. Healthy Food, Exercise, Hiking, Music, Dance, ...studying Healing and Metaphysics...and practicing Photography.
Thanks for visiting. I look forward to supporting your
healing journey at this present time!
